SurveyMonkey and Would You Do Porn? – Post #49

Jerry: No, I'm not gonna tell her about your shrinkage. Besides, I think women know about shrinkage.
George: How do women know about shrinkage? (They see Elaine walking down the hall) Elaine! Get! (She enters) Do women know about shrinkage?
Elaine: What do you mean, like laundry?
George: No.
Jerry: Like when a man goes swimming... afterwards...
Elaine: It shrinks?
Jerry: Like a frightened turtle!
Elaine: Why does it shrink?
George: It just doooes.

According to the latest blog poll, 43% of you guys think that men are at their hottest when they’re over 40 years old.  38% think it’s guys 30 and under.

I chose 45 as the hottest age.

This is the fifth installment of the results from the 2010 sex survey I posted on surveymonkey.  Please check out the new one.  The last post talked about who likes to be watched.  This time it’s about who’d do porn.  Who’d rather be filmed having sex, bottoms or top?  Make your prediction.  The graphs are at theorgyguy.com.

The last post showed that the same percentage of tops and bottoms enjoy the idea of being watched, but that barebackers get into it more than safe guys.  But is being watched the same as being filmed, presumably to be watched?  Not really.  Being in porn adds another dimension to it, that of being recognized.  There’s a lack of control associated with it, too; you don’t know who’s watching.

In which case, I added the choice, “Yes, but with no face showing.”  That is how I shoot the porn I produce and sell.  This way, you know it’s regular guys and not guys who have to be paid to perform for you.

The 177 men who answered this question tended to like the idea being in porn.  Almost two-thirds said Yes, but with no face showing, while 14% out-and-out said Yes, even with my face showing.  That leaves fewer than one one quarter of the men who said No to doing porn.

Far out.

When breaking it down among bottoms, tops, and verses, it’s the bottoms who’d be most into being on film.  Approximately two-thirds of all three categories of guys opted for Yes, with no face, but bottoms were more apt to say Yes, even with faces showing (22%).  Tops (7%) and verses (11%) were a lot less willing to be recognizeable.

Generally, though, bottoms, tops, and verses weren’t that far apart.  At least not as far apart as safesexers and barebackers.  A whopping 26% of barebackers would allow their faces to be seen in a porn film.  26%!  Combine that with the 67% who said Yes, but with no faces showing, and we’re left with a measly 7% saying No Thanks to being in porn.  35% of safesexers said No, which is five times as many.  And only 2% of safesexers said Yes to being recognizeable, compared to 26% of barebackers.

So, what do you make of this?

The new survey is up on SurveyMonkey.  It’s got more in-depth questions than the first one and includes age, race, and location, so the results will have more meaning and relevance.  Here are the sixteen questions:

1.  Age?
2.  Race?
3.  Where do you live (zip, city/province, country)?
4.  What is your relationship status?
5.  Have you ever been to a sex party (at least 5 guys)?
6.  Do you use a condom for fucking?
7.  Do you use a condom for oral sex?
8.  Are you bottom, top, or vers (scale 1-9)
9.  How masculine do you consider yourself to be? (scale of Not At All Masculine to Totally Masculine)
10. Approximately how many times per week do you have sex?
11. Approximately how many times per week do you have masturbate?
12. How old were you when you GOT your first blowjob?
13. How old were you when you GAVE your first blowjob?
14. How old were you when you topped for the first time?
15. How old were you when you bottomed for the first time?
16. Who is one image-googleable example of your type of guy?

I hope (if you’re a gay man) you’ll take the survey.  It shouldn’t take long and you’ll be able to see some interesting results in the near future.  See where you stand in relation to whatever groups with which you may identify.

Ö Ö Ö

Other than the SurveyMonkey data, I studiously keep certain data on my parties.  One of those is attendee zip code (or regional equivalent thereof), which will be part of the next blog post.  It’s really interesting to see where guys are coming from, literally, from around the world and around the nation, as well as what neighborhoods in Manhattan.

Stay tuned...
